Mama2Mama

Mama2Mama is a baby bank based in Woolwich that is led by and for local families, particularly those experiencing economic hardship. Rooted in community connection, they provide essential baby items alongside holistic support services, ensuring that the experiences and voices of parents and carers guide the development of their work. ‍ Their approach is grounded in trust, lived experience, and mutual support. Mama2Mama promotes a circular economy by accepting and distributing pre-loved items within the community, preventing unnecessary waste. They also offer community-focused activities that create space for families to build relationships, confidence, and resilience. By working in partnership with local services, they help reduce isolation, increase access to support, and empower families to shape a more inclusive and caring local system.

How we're partnering with the Alliance

Strategic VCSE leadership in NHS Trusts

We’re embedding senior VCSE leaders within south east London NHS trusts, bringing community insight into the heart of organisational decision-making, strategy development, and service design - strengthening collaboration between the NHS and the VCSE sector and supporting more equitable, community-informed health outcomes.

Trust and Health Creation Partnership

The Trust and Health Creation Partnership is a three-year programme funded by the South East London Integrated Care Board (SEL ICB), bringing together By and For and grassroots VCSE organisations, NHS Prevention Leads, King's Health Partners and the South East London VCSE Strategic Alliance. Together, we are exploring how trust, relationships and community leadership contribute to community-led health creation, and how health and care systems can better understand, support and invest in the conditions that help communities thrive.
